Applied Medical has been developing and manufacturing advanced surgical technologies for nearly 30 years, and has earned a strong reputation in healthcare.Our dedication to delivering the highest quality products and unique business positioning, provides our team members with the unique ability to contribute in a larger capacity than is possible in typical positions.Position Description:As a Electrical Engineer you will be responsible for working within the framework of a team and performing the following activities:Schematic design of new and innovative projectsAnalyze the hardware and firmware of embedded medical electrical systems with an emphasis on power management, digital and analog controls, and low frequency (500 kHz) high power (500 W) RF amplificationParticipate in firmware creation for programmable logic devices such as DSPs, FPGAs, and CPLDsParticipate in hardware and firmware design reviewsProvide design know how for external vendors and supplier developmentSupport other groups during integration of hardware, firmware, and softwareTest and troubleshoot boards and system level electrical systemsDevelop, update, and peer-review engineering documents such as instructions, drawings, test procedures and reportsPosition Requirements:This position requires the following skills and attributes:4 year degree in computer engineering, electrical engineering or related engineering degreeElectronics troubleshooting skills with ability to use oscilloscopes, signal generators, and other lab equipmentExperience with Microsoft Word, Excel and OutlookEffective verbal, written and interpersonal communication skillsAbility to effectively communicate hardware and firmware details to team members of all levelsAbility to perform individually and in a team environmentAbility to understand, analyze, and troubleshoot complex systemsAbility to develop innovative solutions to complex systemsAbility to work effectively in cross-functional teamsExperience with working hands-on to create prototypesPreferred:The following skills and attributes are beneficial:0-3 years of professional engineering experienceExperience with analog and mixed signals designExperience with power electronicsExperience with microcontrollers, DSPs, FPGAs, and/or CPLDsExperience with Verilog, VHDL, C/C++, and/or assemblyExperience with ARM processors or similarBenefits:Training and mentorship with ongoing learning and development coursesOn-campus wellness activitiesComprehensive medical and dental and vision coverageEducation reimbursement program401(k) program with discretionary employer matchGenerous vacation accrual and paid holiday schedule
