Job Description:
Description Materials Manager Position Summary: The Materials
Manager is responsible for purchasing supplies and establishing
inventory controls. The Materials Manager must be aware of and
maintain inventory levels of supplies to promote optimum patient
care while still maintaining cost-effective measures for the good
of the Surgery Center. Responsibilities: Materials Manager duties
will consist of, but are not limited to: • Purchase and maintain
inventory levels of all supplies. Daily checks with stocking the
Center in its entirety. • Receive and stock all supplies. •
Stocking of new deliveries (supplies and equipment). • Interact
with Vendors and Sales Representatives to negotiate pricing, and
create and maintain a contact binder for all Vendors and Sales
Reps. • Procure and return special instruments and supplies needed
for all cases. • Dispose of in the appropriate manner, all boxes
and shipping material. • Create and maintain a file for all
contracts between the center and vendors. • Create and maintain an
area for all equipment manuals. • Schedule biannual equipment
checks and maintenance service on all equipment and maintain a
logbook. • Create and maintain a manual that lists names, numbers
and contacts for all service and maintenance companies.
Qualifications Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent.
Must possess knowledge of supplies and equipment. Must possess
knowledge of proper cleaning technique per the Center’s policies
and procedures. Must have full understanding of the English
language, both verbal and written. Strong communication skills
(both written and verbal; long distance and in-person). Proficient
in Windows, MS Office, and database management software. Experience
and familiarity with ambulatory surgery terminology and purchasing
desired. Experience with data analysis and performing cost
comparison in Excel is highly desired. Experience with contract
negotiation and networking. Strong attention to detail.
Self-starter: ability to push projects to completion with minimal
oversight or instruction. Ability to work both individually and
collaboratively with a team Sterile processing and/or surgical
technician experience preferred
