contributing to a high-performing engineering team. Role Overview
The Senior Electrical Engineer & Project Manager is an
electrical-led leadership role responsible for the design,
coordination, and delivery of building electrical systems from
concept through construction. This individual will act as a
technical lead and project manager, guiding electrical design
efforts while coordinating closely with mechanical and plumbing
teams. Success in this role requires deep expertise in power
distribution, lighting, and life safety systems, as well as the
ability to manage scope, schedule, and quality across multiple
projects. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, code-savvy, and
comfortable serving as a primary technical and client-facing point
of contact. Core Responsibilities Lead the design of electrical
systems including power distribution, lighting, lighting controls,
grounding, and life safety systems. Develop electrical system
concepts and basis of design documentation aligned with project
requirements and applicable codes. Serve as technical lead and,
where applicable, Engineer of Record for electrical scopes. Manage
electrical-led project scopes from concept through construction,
including budget, schedule, and deliverables. Coordinate electrical
designs with mechanical, plumbing, fire protection, architectural,
and structural disciplines. Oversee and mentor engineers and
designers, providing technical guidance and quality control.
Perform site surveys, field investigations, and existing conditions
assessments. Prepare and review construction documents,
specifications, and technical reports. Provide construction
administration support including submittal review, RFI responses,
site visits, and punch walks. Support commissioning activities and
system validation efforts as required. Assist with proposal
development, fee estimates, and technical input during pursuits.
Ensure all electrical systems comply with applicable building
codes, energy standards, and project requirements. Required
Background Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering. Minimum 7
years of electrical engineering experience within an MEP consulting
environment. Strong experience designing building electrical
systems for commercial or institutional projects. Demonstrated
project management experience with responsibility for scope,
schedule, and coordination. Proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit for
electrical system design. Experience producing and reviewing fully
coordinated construction documents. Strong understanding of
electrical, life safety, and energy codes and standards. Proven
ability to collaborate across disciplines and communicate
effectively with clients and project teams. High attention to
technical accuracy, constructability, and system performance.
Professional Engineer (PE) license required. Compensation & Perks
Competitive base salary up to $150,000, based on experience and
licensure. Hybrid work schedule (3 days in office, 2 days remote).
