SUPERVISOR EXEMPT: YES LOCATION : REPORTS TO: VP of Operations
DAYS: Monday - Friday SUMMARY: The position of Landscape Pesticide
Supervisor carries the overall responsibility for maintaining
contractual obligations in regards to herbicide, pesticide, and
fertilization management. Related duties include ensuring a safe
work environment for all personnel assigned to chemical use, and
strict adherence to all federal, state and local laws and
regulations. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the
following. Other duties may be assigned. Treat specific insect,
weed, turf disease and nutritional deficiencies by application of
appropriate product. Maintain power spray equipment assigned to
your area in a safe, clean and mechanically sound condition at all
times. Organization of equipment, products and ensures proper
disposal of all pesticide/fertilizer residue and containers. Put
together the spray request calendar and send via email to
management Ensuring that all field equipment complies with federal,
state and local regulations. Maintain accurate records of chemical
usage according to all applicable federal, state and local laws,
rules and regulations. Conduct the yearly pesticide training. Use
good judgment in the application of chemical (exposure to the
public, weather conditions and other environmental considerations).
Interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning
and directing work; appraising performance, rewarding and
disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving
problems. Managing, training and coaching the Pesticide
Technicians' in alignment with company values. Turning in staff
payroll and other paper work on time. Provide and maintain safe
physical conditions for employees assigned to spray duties, per
OSHA standards. Diagnoses insect, disease, and weed infestations in
(turf, planter areas, shrubbery, and trees) and develops effective
treatment of each. Writes reports as needed identifying problems
and treatments. Presenting all records and documents required by
the county's department of agriculture for audits. QUALIFICATION
REQUIREMENTS : To perform this job successfully, an individual must
be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The

essential functions. EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE: A high school
diploma or GED is required. Minimum three to five years' experience
as a pesticide technician. Prior supervisory experience preferred.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES Knowledge of pest control, plant
pathology, crop protection, and disease management is an advantage.
Understanding of governmental regulations, product labeling,
manufacturer's instruction for chemicals and chemical application
equipment. Good verbal and written communication skills, time
management skills, and the ability to work in high-stress
environments. Ability to communicate with management regarding
progress of tasks. Bilingual English and Spanish a plus
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS : A valid California
Qualified Applicator Certificate (QAC) or California Qualified
Applicator License (QAL) in Landscape Maintenance. Certified
Arborist a plus. Maintain valid CA driver's license. PHYSICAL
DEMANDS: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is
regularly required to stand and walk for extended period of time.
The employee frequently is required to reach with hands and arms.
The employee is occasionally required to sit, use hands to finger,
handle or feel objects, tools, or controls; stoop kneel crouch, or
crawl, and talk or hear. The employee must frequently lift and/or
move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25
pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include
close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision,
depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. WORK

with exposure to the following: Hot and cold temperatures, sudden
changes in temperatures, varying levels of noise, slippery

usually moderate.
