Job Description Job Description We are searching for a quality Estimator interested in working for a growing deck coating and waterproofing contractor specializing in high-quality surface protection systems for residential and multi-family properties. We are seeking an experienced Construction Estimator to support our continued growth and ensure accurate, competitive, and profitable project bidding. Position Summary The Estimator is responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates for deck coating, waterproofing, deck building/repairing, and related reconstruction projects. This role involves reviewing plans, performing site walks, developing takeoffs, coordinating with vendors, and supporting the sales and operations teams to ensure smooth project handoff. Key Responsibilities Review drawings, specifications, and project documents Perform on-site measurements and quantity takeoffs Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates and proposals Solicit and evaluate pricing from material suppliers and subcontractors Develop budgets, schedules, and scope of work documents Track bid opportunities and maintain estimating logs Participate in pre-bid meetings and site walks Collaborate with project managers and operations team for job handoff Value-engineer projects when appropriate to improve competitiveness Maintain estimating database and pricing models Required Qualifications 3 years of construction estimating experience (deck coatings, wood restoration/reconstruction, or similar trades preferred) Strong understanding of construction materials, labor, and production rates Ability to read and interpret construction plans and specifications Proficiency with estimating software and Excel Strong math, analytical, and organizational skills Excellent written and verbal communication skills Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation Preferred Qualifications Experience with multi-family projects Knowledge of coating systems, waterproof membranes, and surface prep methods Familiarity with platforms such as Microsoft Excel/Suites, Builder Trend Compensation & Benefits $75-90k/yr 401k, medical, dental and vision Health, dental, and vision insurance Company Description Go-Staff, Inc. is a family owned and operated full-service staffing company serving all of Southern California.
